VIOLENCE INTERVENTION

 

The violence intervention programs offered by ACCESS are based upon an "assets model of care" . That simply means that the professional staff emphasizes each person's strengths, rather than confronting weaknesses. The treatment team identifies the practices and beliefs that endanger the individuals and communities, and works in a collaborative and nonjudgemental manner. Counseling services offered include individual and group counseling; couples and/or family counseling is availible indicated.

Basic Tenants of Violence Intervention Services
 

  • Recognizes the intrinsic value and dignity of all human beings.

  • Does not judge behavior as good or bad.

  • Recognizes the competency of people to make choices and changes in their lives.

  • Provides options in a nonjudgmental, non-coercive way.
